RE: Electric water heater blowing the breaker (update)

I put the meter on the element and it showed that it was indeed bad. Replaced the element and had hot water in 20 minutes. Leaving this afternoon for the VA Crab Festival. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

RE: Electric water heater blowing the breaker (update)

I tried a little troubleshooting last night. When I turn the water heater off at the unit and then turn of switch on the light in the switch glows like it should, but then when I turn the unit on the breaker blows and the light goes out in the switch. I'm thinking it is the element.

Electric water heater blowing the breaker (update)

We purchased a 2005 King of the Road and the gas water heater was not working but the electric was. I took it back to the dealer and they kept it 2 weeks and called and said it was fixed. I went and picked it up and checked the gas water heater and it worked fine. Yesterday I was prep'ing it for the weekend and checked the gas heater...no problem. When I switched to electric it blew the breaker in the panel box. I checked it several times and got the same result. I am wondering if they left the electric switch on and burned up the elements. Any ideas???? I don't want to pull it all the way back to the dealer ($$$$ for gas, 75 miles one way) and want to try and fix this myself.

RE: What tire pressure??

The tires are rated to go up to 80PSI. These tires are rated the same as my old tires so I should be ok.
Thanks everyone.
Mowermech when did you get out of the Navy. I was an OS 78-82.
Thanks again for all the helpful comments.

What tire pressure??

I just replaced my old tires with 235/85 R16 Commerical TA's, but the dealer wasn't sure what pressure to inflate them to. He said most likely 75-80. My 5er is a King of the Road, Royal Villa, 36ft. What pressure should they be inflated to??
Thanks in advance.

What Replacement Tires???

Ok guys, give it to me straight...while sitting at the camper tonight having "Happy Hour"with the father in law, he glanced at my tires and said..."you need new tires son". I looked at them and he was right. They had cracks all the way around the tire. I don't want to have to worry about a blow out this summer when the DW and I are on the road. I also was told by the father in law to have them filled with nitrogen?? That is what he has on his Prevost. I think they fill them with nitrogen alot in tires in FL. I don't know where in the world I will find that here in Virginia. Any ideas????
Thanks,

RE: Help, can't find small leak!

I can attest to the rainy weekend. I left my slides out after I washed the camper. I checked yesterday and NO leaks. If it didn't leak after this weekend and Monday I don't think it will any time soon.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the game "washers"??

Does anyone have the dimensions of the game that is played in campgrounds called "washers"?? I need to know the dimensions of the boxes, the hole (tube), the distance between the boxes and the size of the washers.
Thanks.

RE: Satellite's

Padre1,
Thanks for the reply to the PM. U must be a silver tongue devil. I called DirecTV this afternoon about getting the free dish and tripod. They acted like I was on crack (and I've been with them since they were Primestar). I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy the Wingard. The father-in-law is back from FL.

RE: Satellite's

This past weekend the DW and I went for a short trip. I borrowed my father-in-law's back up portable Wingard dish out of his Prevost coach. I had 2 extra DirecTV boxes that I put in the living room and bed room of the 5th wheel. I got up Saturday morning and was up in running in about 20 minutes. It was actually pretty easy and I got a great siginal and picture.
You can buy the Wingard for $120 - $140 from Camping World. I just can't justify almost $700 for the VU-Cube.

RE: historical question: sedan roof mounted 5er hitches

I was at the 1977 American Quarter Horse World Finals in Tulsa, OK. and there was a guy there driving a Caddy and pulling a 2 horse trailer with the gooseneck plate attached to the roof of his car. He seemed pretty confident with the set up but the 2 horses looked pretty nervous!!!

RE: Camping with Kids around Virginia

Westmoreland State Park near Montross, Va. is pretty good. It's on the Potomac River. Stratford Hall (R.E.Lees birthplace) is about 2 miles away and George Washington's birthplace is about 5 miles away.
There is also Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster County, Va. It's fairly new.
And there is Beth Page. It's the #1 Park in the US.
Hope this helps. You can PM me if you have any questions.

How tight can you tighten your brakes down to??

My question is how tight can the brakes be tighten down to on your 5er?? This past weekend I was testing mine and when I use just the brake controller the unit will slow and stop but it will not totally lock the trailer wheels up. How tight can they be and how tight should they be?? I had the setting on the controller maxed out.
